A female cyclist has accused India’s national sprint team head coach RK Sharma of “inappropriate behavior” during a camp in Slovenia, officials say. It was reported that the complaint was made via an email sent to Sports Authority of India (SAI).

The cyclist, unidentified for the moment, was brought back to India to ensure her safety, reports The Indian Express. SAI and Cycling Federation of India (CFI) have set up two separate Boards of Inquiry to look into the allegation.

CFI’s statement identified Sharma and said she supported the plaintiff. SAI, in its statement, said it had “received a complaint from a cyclist regarding the inappropriate behavior of a trainer during an exhibition camp abroad in Slovenia”.

The CFI said that “the decision of the committee formed by the SAI will have the full support of the federation”.

“Following the athlete’s complaint, SAI immediately flew her back to India to ensure her safety and also set up a committee to investigate the matter,” he said, adding that “the matter is prioritized and will be resolved shortly,” he said.
