Aquatic Professionals – Employment of Swimming Instructor and Assistant Swimming Coach

  • Current Red Cross certifications in lifesaving, CPR, AED and first aid or swim coach safety training
  • Experience in competitive swimming as a participant or coach
  • Understand current best practices in learn-to-swim, competitive swimming techniques, and childhood development
  • Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of the principles and methods of presenting, promoting and selling services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, as well as sales techniques
  • Know the dangers of water, rescue techniques and first aid, recognize dangerous situations and adopt effective action plans
  • Requires good swimming ability and proper application of rescue and first aid techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • The work is usually performed outdoors in variable and sometimes extreme (hot) weather conditions.
  • Ability to arrive at work on time for all required scheduled shifts. Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays required.
  • Must be flexible, adaptable and able to adapt easily to changes in the work environment.
  • The position requires daily contact with the public.
  • Must be able to work in a hot environment
  • Must sit occasionally for long periods of time and walk around facility regularly
  • Mobility around and in the pool.
